Our home team played a friendly soccer match against Architects 61 on Saturday 16 July at Braddell-Westlake Secondary School. The weather was cool and cloudy but temperatures ran high on the pitch.
It was an exciting match marked with spectacular goals and gallant defences by both teams.
Donned in white, DP Architects established a 1-0 advantage over Architects 61 in the first half with Captain Kazi's goal. The match heated up further in the second half when Kazi was roughly tackled from behind and instead of a penalty kick, he was flashed the yellow card for arguing with the referee!
Not defeated in spirit, Kazi showed why he might consider an alternative football career when he pumped a second goal into the net! 2 – 0 to DP Architects.
Architects 61 did not return empty-handed. They scored in the most dramatic fashion in the 90th minute. Final score - DP Architects 2 : Architects 61 1.
